Virtual Doula
What is a Virtual Birth Doula?
As a virtual birth doula I provide the same prenatal education and support during pregnancy as for my in-person clients. The only difference is that I won’t physically attend the birth. Instead, I will offer virtual support through video chats, phone calls, and texts; giving tips, alternatives to interventions, movement and physical support ideas based on the baby's position, comfort measures, and any other assistance you may need.
A virtual doula may be a good option for you if:
You have a good main support person (or persons) who are in full support of your birth plan, can attend your prenatal classes with me, can utilize the physical comfort measures that I teach, and are comfortable with supporting and advocating for you during L&D
You do not wish to have anyone but your main support person in the room with you, but still want the knowledge and assistance of a trained doula
Are wanting to be more cognizant of budget, but still want the support of an experienced doula
You are towards the end of your pregnancy and realize that due to medical complications you may have to receive interventions you hadn’t planned on and would like an experienced doula to come alongside you
